AI FOUNDATIONS
Claude in Motion. You in Control.
Claude Cowork acts as a capable digital contractor you can delegate real work to. Point it at your contracts, your filings, and reports. Describe in plain English what you need. Walk away.
No technical background required. No IT involvement. No lengthy onboarding before anything useful happens. Within your first session, your team is building real automations against your real files.
Every automation is saved as a Skill file: a reusable instruction set your entire team can run, share, and hand to a new hire on day one. When someone leaves, the workflow stays.

What is Claude?
Claude is an AI assistant built by Anthropic. It can help you write, analyze, plan, code, and automate work, in plain English. No technical background required.
How do I access Claude?
Claude is available on the web at claude.ai, as mobile apps (iOS and Android), and as a desktop app (macOS and Windows). For professional use, install the desktop app — it gives you access to the features that make Claude useful for real work.
The desktop app is required for Claude Cowork and Claude Code. Web and mobile give you Chat only. Download at claude.com/download.
Is Claude the same as ChatGPT or Copilot?
They’re all AI assistants, but each has different strengths and integrations. Claude is built for careful reasoning, clean writing, and reliable coding support — and tends to ask clarifying questions rather than guess at intent.
What are tokens, and will I run out?
Tokens are how Claude measures usage — roughly three-quarters of a word each. Every message you send and every response generated uses some. Plans include a usage allowance that resets on a rolling schedule (typically every 5 hours, with a weekly cap). Cowork tasks consume tokens faster than Chat. If you hit your limit, wait for the reset. Focused prompts and smaller task batches help stretch your allowance.
What plans are available?
Five tiers: Free, Pro, Max (two levels: 5x and 20x), Team, and Enterprise. Free is limited to Chat with strict usage caps. Paid plans add Cowork, Claude Code, and higher usage. Team and Enterprise add admin controls and shared features.
Check claude.com/pricing for current details — prices and features can change.
Do I need a separate license for each person?
Yes, licenses are per user. Anyone actively using Claude needs their own account.
Which plan should we start with?
Pro is the right starting point for most individuals and small teams — it includes Chat, Cowork, and Claude Code with enough usage for real workflows. Move to Max if you regularly hit limits. Choose Team if you need 5+ seats with centralized billing.
What’s the difference between Team Standard and Team Premium?
Team Standard includes Chat, Cowork, and shared workspace features. Team Premium adds the same higher usage limits as Max — recommended for engineering staff using Claude Code intensively. Seat types can be mixed within a single plan.
What’s the difference between Chat and Cowork?
Chat is a conversation — you ask, it answers, you take it from there. Cowork is an agentic workspace where Claude does the work: point it at files or folders, describe the outcome you want, and it produces finished output without step-by-step prompting.
Where do I find Cowork?
Cowork is available in the Claude desktop app (macOS or Windows) on paid plans. Inside the app, look for the mode selector that switches between Chat and Cowork.
Why does Cowork need the desktop app?
Cowork reads and writes to local files and folders and can interact with desktop applications. The desktop app must be installed and running, and your computer needs to stay awake while a task is executing.
When should I use Chat vs. Cowork?
Use Chat when you want to think through a problem, draft something, ask questions, or refine your instructions. Use Cowork when you have files to process and a specific output you want — reports, spreadsheets, batch document work, recurring tasks. Describe the result, point it at a folder, and walk away.
Can Cowork run multiple tasks at the same time?
A single Cowork session handles one task at a time. For parallel work, run separate sessions or have team members each run their own.
What is Claude Code, and who should use it?
Claude Code is a coding assistant that runs in your terminal or inside the Claude desktop app. It can read your codebase, write and edit code, run commands, and handle multi-file changes from plain-English instructions. Designed for developers, technical operations staff, and anyone comfortable in a terminal or IDE — useful for refactoring, debugging, writing scripts, and automating engineering workflows.
Is my data safe with Claude?
Yes. Claude operates with AES-256 encryption at rest, TLS 1.2+ in transit, and holds SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certification. The more relevant question for most teams is whether conversations are used to train future models — and that depends on your plan.
Does Anthropic train its models on my conversations?
It depends on your plan. On Team, Enterprise, and the API, training on your data is contractually prohibited — off by default, not configurable. On Free, Pro, and Max, training is on by default and must be manually disabled in Settings > Privacy. For any business use involving client or proprietary data, Team or higher is
the appropriate choice.
Can Claude access files on my computer?
Only files and folders you explicitly grant access to in Cowork. Claude does not browse your system independently, and the desktop app prompts you to approve folder access before each session.
What about deploying Claude through our own cloud environment?
For organizations that need data to remain inside their own network, Claude is available through Amazon Bedrock, Google Cloud Vertex AI, and Microsoft Foundry. This path is typically pursued by Enterprise customers with strict data residency or compliance requirements.
Should we create a dedicated user account when connecting Claude to other systems?
Yes, sound practice. A dedicated account with minimum-required permissions makes Claude’s activity easy to identify in audit logs and straightforward to revoke if needed.
Do I need to know how to code?
No. Chat and Cowork are designed for plain-English instructions. Claude Code is the one feature built specifically for developers — everything else is accessible to non-technical users.
What if Claude doesn’t understand what I’m asking?
Give it more context: what you’re trying to do, what the inputs look like, and what you want the output to look like. You can also use Chat to refine your prompt before running the task in Cowork.
What if Claude makes a mistake?
Spot-check outputs, especially when you’re new to a workflow. If something’s off, tell Claude what’s wrong and it will correct course. A few iterations on your Skill or prompt typically resolves recurring issues.
How do I get faster at using Claude?
Use it daily, including on small tasks. Save the prompts and Skills that work. Share what you learn with teammates. Most people find that within a few weeks, work that took hours becomes a few minutes of setup and review.
